endangered

the Endangered show, a 3-person show with artists Kevin Margitich and Michelle Knowlen at Bluebottle Art Gallery & Store in seattle will open january 2. it has been pretty sad to work on this - disheartening doesn't come close, SO many species to choose from. but awareness is good, right? and i've seen a preview of Kevin & Michelle's work - both have treated the subject beautifully and thoughtfully, & it's good fun to see the differences.
i'll donate 10% of my take to the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, which will make a nice change from what prompts my usual giving-to-them habit, which is really only when i bring in an injured party. last time it was a pigeon.

the previous four posts are from the show, but this is breaking news: a preview is up, complete with every painting from all three of us. to see it, go here:

cards

here are the cards nick designed. they are blank inside for your personalized message. you can get them here in town at:
i like you
and on december 11 at spotique, a holiday shopping event at spotart
in seattle, at bluebottle art gallery & store

i like you

i like you, that super-awesome minneapolis shop of locally crafted objects, is now carrying some things, hooray! my brother nick designed a calendar & 'greeting cards' for me, and i like you is selling these, as well as some really tiny original paintings.

cafe wren

i'm late in updating this blog like crazy! the show started 1 month ago and will be up until the end of december. cafe wren is the sweetest little restaurant. it's in an old farm house in luck, wi - a pretty drive from the cities, and worth it, food-wise. i highly recommend the tomato basil soup, it had melty chunks of cream cheese in it, mmm. the owners are very conscious of using local, seasonal ingredients, so it might not be on the menu if you visit, but based on what i've seen you won't go wrong with any other choice.

feeling nostalgic & public

moving out from my tiny little apartment on saturday. it'll be a good move, but this was quite the little place to live for a year.

spotogee further

another thing i turned in for the show, called 'iconic landscape with traincars & geese'. it might not get shown because it's not really in keeping with the rest of the stuff, but i like its pattern-y nature.
